FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO APPLY FOR SKILLED INDEPENDENT MIGRATION?

Australian immigration authorities assesse migration applications for Skilled Independent category based on:

  • Basic Requirements including English requirements
  • A Skills Assessment
  • A Points Test
  • Health and Character requirements.

Basic requirements establish the most important conditions which applicant and members of his/her family unit must be able to satisfy to get the visa.

A skill test examines your post-secondary (such as university or trade) qualifications and their relevance to your career. You must have your skills and work experience formally assessed by the relevant Australian authority as suitable for your nominated occupation.

The Points Test takes into consideration your age, English language skills, occupation, work experience, any family relationship in Australia. You must score a particular number of points to be considered eligible to apply for migration.

Once you have had your skills assessed and have scored the minimum points required, you need to have your health and character assessed. You will be required to take a medical and x- ray examination and contact your local police force for a character report.

DO I NEED TO SATISFY THE POINTS TEST IF I AM GOING TO VISIT AUSTRALIA AS A TEMPORARY RESIDENT?

If you are applying for temporary residence, you do not need to complete the points test, however you must prove that you can support yourself financially in Australia.

WHAT IS MY LIKELIHOOD OF SUCCESS?

We can never promise you that your visa will be approved. Immigration legislation in Australia does change from time to time, affecting visa applications and approvals, however if you meet all the requirements for the visa you're applying for, you have a good chance of success.

  • your Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • job references and/or duty statements for at least the last 2 years of your career or appropriate documentation if you are a business person (articles of incorporation, business registration, income tax returns etc.)

HOW LONG DO APPLICATIONS TAKE?
